Santa Clara Valley Chapter of CAAEYC Update

On August 10, the Santa Clara Valley Chapter board members all attended a Board Retreat to get to know each other better and to plan out the direction and future events for the 2019-2020 fiscal year. During this retreat board members: Nell Redaniel, President; Jayanti Tambe Roy, President-Elect; Wendy Lundeen, Vice President; Shelley Gonzales, Treasurer; and Jenny Katzen, Secretary made and shared personal vision boards with each other, discussed revisions for the mission and vision statements for the chapter, and brainstormed fundraising and other member events.

On August 20, we held our first official board meeting that was and always is open for anyone to attend. We had a huge turnout and met several new faces. We would like to say thank you to Pacific Oaks College for providing the food and freebies. At this meeting we discussed committees and volunteering and recorded contact information for anyone who was interested in learning more. We also talked about future events, partnerships and educational opportunities. Our next board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17 from 7:00pm-9:00pm (location TBD).
