With Gratitude, Honor and Pride

Dear Esteemed Members of CAAEYC,

I am filled with immense gratitude and pride as I reflect upon the incredible journey we have embarked upon during my two years as the President of CAAEYC. It has been a privilege and an honor to serve this organization and work tirelessly on behalf of the early childhood education workforce, for the benefit of all children, families, and of course, for you, our dedicated members.

One of the highlights of my tenure has been our successful completion of a long-awaited milestone: conducting a comprehensive member survey. After many years of anticipation, we were finally able to gather valuable insights and feedback from our members. This survey was a testament to our commitment to transparency, accountability and our unwavering dedication to meeting your needs and expectations.

The results of this survey were nothing short of enlightening. It provided us with invaluable information that has since become the cornerstone of our efforts to make CAAEYC an even more effective and responsive organization. Your input, your ideas and your concerns have been the driving force behind our actions, as we sought to better serve you and improve the early childhood education field as a whole.

Moreover, I am proud of how we have made significant strides in achieving the strategic plan goals we set out to accomplish. These goals were not just mere aspirations, but a roadmap towards enhancing the quality of early childhood education in our communities. Together, we have made tangible progress, proving that when we work together as a united front, we can achieve remarkable results.

The challenges of the past two years have been unprecedented, as the world grappled with the pandemic. However, adversity only served to strengthen our resolve. We adapted to the new normal by hosting online workshops and conferences, ensuring that our members continued to receive professional development they deserved. These virtual events brought us closer together, enabling us to share knowledge, resources and best practices in a time when they were needed most.

In 2023, we witnessed a remarkable rebound as we came together for a highly successful in-person conference. This event, marked by unity and enthusiasm, was a testament to our collective determination to overcome adversity and continue our vital work in early childhood education. It was a moment of joy, learning and reaffirmation of our shared commitment to children, families and the ECE workforce.

Throughout this journey, I have cherished every moment of serving as your President. It has been a privilege to work alongside a team of dedicated individuals who share a common vision for the future of early childhood education. Together, we have made progress that will leave a lasting impact on the lives of children, families and our workforce.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Your support, dedication and passion have been the driving force behind our accomplishments. While my time as President has ended, our collective mission continues. I have full confidence that CAAEYC will continue to thrive and make even greater strides in the years to come. What we do is not only about education; it is about building a brighter future for our children, families and communities. It is about making a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this journey, and I look forward to witnessing the continued growth and success of CAAEYC under the capable leadership of those who will follow. I serve at the pleasure of President Fran Chasen.

Thank you!
