Grant Submission Opened in September for the Terri Lynne Lokoff/Children's TYLENOL®, Children's ZYRTEC® National Child Care Teacher Awards

Early Care and Education is not a field that receives much recognition for its dedicated workforce. However, there is one organization that has been highlighting the work of teachers in our field since 1994. I am still amazed when I run into teachers who have never heard of Terri Lynne Lokoff/Children's TYLENOL®, Children's ZYRTEC® National Child Care Teacher Awards (TLLCCF).

The TLLCCF was founded in 1987 by Kay and Fred Lokoff who wanted a way to honor the memory of their daughter Terri who died in a tragic car accident in 1986. Terri’s work and interest in quality childcare drove her parent’s creation of this nonprofit organization that dedicates itself to improving early care and education. Currently the Foundation presents this prestigious award to 50 teachers every year. Winners receive:

  • $500 for personal use
  • $500 to implement their project

They also have the honor of being recognized at an awards ceremony in Pennsylvania during the spring. This trip includes transportation and lodging, and special events – such as a visit to historic Pennsylvania.

And that’s not all.

One of the 50 teachers recognized will receive the Helene Marks Award and have the honor of being named “National Child Care Teacher of the Year.” The winner of this prestigious award receives an additional $1,000.

If you, or someone you know, is interested in finding out more about the award(s), visit the TLLCCF website today!

Who knows? You may be brewing an idea that becomes the winning submission.
