Men and Early Care and Education

Jose Nunez

We need you! Yes, you! The California Men and Early Care and Education Committee (MECE) is looking for new committee members

Our amazing committee addresses issues impacting men in early care education, while supporting the CAAEYC mission and values. We strive to create an inviting and welcoming environment that specifically promotes men’s increased involvement in the early care and education profession.

Our committee works on promoting events that increase involvement of men in our profession, marketing CAAEYC and establishing MECE committees at CAAEYC regional chapters.

We also aim to build equity and promote men to consider the Early Childhood Education Field as a career and profession. In addition, our goal is to offer scholarships, mentorships, outreach to schools, training, conferences and networking. We also plan to work on community events and fundraising activities.

Meetings are generally held monthly.

Contact MECE Chair Jose Nunez at if you are interested in joining the committee.
