Outgoing CAEYC Board Members - Thank You - You All Have Been Awesome!
I want to celebrate our outgoing CAEYC Board Members who have worked so hard to make sure CAEYC lived up to its goal of advancing the early care and education profession. They have been a dedicated and productive group of visionary leaders for CAEYC.
Kathy Thompson was a long-time contributor to CAEYC in a number of essential positions. We thank her for her guidance as Treasurer and celebrated her work as Conference Committee Chair at several outstanding conferences. Her dedication to CAEYC was inspiring.
Cindy Santa Cruz Reed served as the Chair of the Center for Social Change. She led the center to greater vision and purpose by increasing the Center’s visibility and interaction with CAEYC Conference goers. Thank you to Cindy for being persistent and volunteering her leadership to make the Center available to CAEYC Members.
Joyce Daniels is stepping off the CAEYC Board but not out of our hearts. She has worked long and hard as a Co-Chair for the Center for Social Change. She has been an important voice for the Center's progress toward ever greater relevance and accessibility.
Greg Robitaille served as the Chair of the Diversity in Action Committee. This Committee is responsible for pointing the way for CAEYC to live an inclusive and responsive purpose for its members.
Joyce Stone has been working with the Public Policy Committee for quite a while and even now is Co-Chairing the Committee with special duties to help get our 2016 Legislative Day up and going. The Public Policy Committee is now in a place to become a central and essential component of CAEYC's work and Joyce had a strong hand in making that happen.
Katy Kenshur served as the Chair of Family Child Care Committee and helped us include the many Family Child Care Professionals in the outreach and educational offerings of CAEYC. Katy is currently working on her own professional growth by working on her doctorate. We wish Katy the best in her doctorate studies.
Arleen Uryu served as the Regional Representative for Region 2. She has worked hard to bring the Region together and set great standards for all those in her region. Her passion for CAEYC’s work and her work with children and their relationship with nature is inspiring.
Eileen McCourt served as a leader for Region 3 as their Region Representative. She helped all of us work through the details of our work and led us in careful examination of the issues. Eileen continues to serve on CAEYC Committees so we are still getting the benefit of her ability to see issues clearly.
Carol Hiestand has been a long-term volunteer with CAEYC and her local Affiliate. Thank you to Carol for stepping into the position of Region 5 Representative when she was much needed. Her calm view of the work of CAEYC was supportive and always there for us.
Thanks to all those who serve the greater purpose of CAEYC's efforts to outreach to our members with quality educational and training events, making connections between and among members, and supporting members whenever possible.
