    Kern AEYC has taken a break for the holidays and will return in January with a workshop entitled "Full STEM/STEAM Ahead!" The presenter will be Joshua Alvarez, territory manager and education consultant for Kaplan Early Learning. Workshops will continue monthly through May. The majority of Kern AEYC workshops are held at the Larry Reider Center in Bakersfield. Kern AEYC members get into workshops free and also receive priority registration. Nonmembers pay $10 per workshop and have the chance to enroll after members' priority registration week.

    Kern AEYC board meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month. They are held on the 3rd floor of the Reider Center. Any Kern AEYC members interested in joining a committee are asked to attend.

    Kern County early childhood educators got up and moved during the November workshop titled Active Physical Play, presented by CPIN Region 8 Lead Julie Parsons and Cal Ivy Prep director Sharon Brown. The Physical Development portion of the Preschool Learning Foundations was explored during this presentation.
