I have a B.A. Degree in Child Development from California State University Long Beach and a Director’s permit from the California Teacher Credentialing Association. I started my career as a substitute for the Child Development Department for Milpitas Unified School District when I was in college as a Business Major. After the experience of working with children I changed my major and begun my journey in Child Development. I worked in low paying child development positions as I attended college to gain field experience.  Through that experience I had the privilege of working at the “Isabel Paterson Child Development Center” on campus. It gave me a core foundation of how to facilitate growth in young children in all areas of development. Due to the fact the center survived on an endowment as staff we did not have the luxury of state of the art equipment or supplies. However, we learned how to build positive relationship with a child and secure a foundation that would be with a child for life. After I graduated, married and moved to Turlock in Stanislaus County I took a job position as a Head Start Teacher with Salida Union School District. It is here I have been for the past 25 years. Over those years I have worn the hat of a Head Start Supervisor, Head Start Education Coordinator, Child Development Program Manager, State Funded Program Supervisor and currently as Child Development Director. I have been in the position as Director for the past 5 years. In the past 25 years it has also been my privilege to have served as President of Stanislaus AEYC, Treasure for Golden Hills AEYC and currently as Co-Chair for Leadership Day for CAEYC. I look forward to being a Region 3 Representative for the CAEYC Board.
