Amazing Creations Preschool – Director Position


Amazing Creations Preschool in Sunnyvale, CA, is currently seeking an energetic and caring director to lead our Christian, play-based and developmental preschool program. Amazing Creations is a small, family-focused preschool, with large play areas and a great team of teachers. The director’s role is to build and support a community of staff and families, in order to ensure a safe environment where children can prosper socially, physically, and academically.


Responsibilities include:

  • Communicate the church vision for the preschool from the preschool board to staff and families
  • Ensure the school meets and maintains licensing requirements
  • Build and train a strong teaching team
  • Build positive relationships with families and maintain clear, positive, and consistent communication with parents
  • Oversee teaching curriculum to ensure it fulfills the school vision and mission
  • Oversee the purchase of curriculum supplies, and snack items
  • Maintain equipment and facilities; make plans for repairs as needed
  • Conduct preschool tours and enroll new students
  • Provide and implement a marketing plan to advertise to new families
  • Organize and lead monthly staff meetings, provide yearly staff trainings, organize yearly fundraiser and occasional special events
  • Maintain a positive relationship between St. Luke Lutheran Church and Amazing Creations Preschool; Attend weekly church staff meetings, and occasional church special events
  • Provide a monthly report to the preschool board and attend monthly board meetings 
  • Provide an annual report for congregational meeting
  • Facilitate interactions between the church and school communities
  • Remain current in the newest early childhood development best practices and any changes to licensing training requirements
  • Other tasks as needed.


The ideal candidate will express a genuine love and concern for children, exhibit a servant’s heart for ministry, will have a strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and have knowledge of Christian curriculum. He or she will have excellent communication and leadership skills, an associate degree (or equivalent) in early childhood development including courses in administration and Infant/Toddler development, be CPR and First aid certified, and have at least two years of classroom teaching experience, as well as experience in a management role. Candidate will be able to fulfill any other requirements listed out by licensing.
