John has been a first grade teacher in the Bronx New York City, after attending Columbia Teacher's College. For more than 30 years he has worked developing literacy materials for young children. His "Can-Do" Kindergarten Program with Childcraft was awarded an Exemplary Distinguished Early childhood Award by NAEYC. His numerous books have won several Children's Choice Awards including Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Here Are My Hands, Boom Chicka Rock and Barn Dance. He has collaborated with Bill Martin Jr on more than a dozen award-winning books for young children and created six CDs and more than 100 songs for young children supporting the Joy of Language and Early Literacy, He has been under demand as a keynote speaker and workshop presenter at conferences across the country and his assemblies for children celebrating storytelling and song and writing workshops are requested year after year. Mr. Archambault did his undergraduate studies as an English Major at UC Riverside, where he was editor of his college newspaper The Highlander. He cast the dream to become a children's author in third grade when he read "Charlotte's Web" and his first book "The Ghost-Eye Tree won a Children's Choice in 1985! He has been writing and celebrating Language ever since.
