Gwen has dedicated her life to working with youth and those who work with them. She started her career as a day camp counselor just out of high school with the YMCA. Since that time she has had the honor to work with a variety of youth programs over the years including early education afterschool, summer day and resident camps and teen programs. Over the past 25 years she has served in different roles within the YMCA movement including her current role as Senior Vice President for Youth Programs, Leadership and Organizational Development with the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles.
Gwen has a passion for leadership development and helping others achieve their fullest potential. She is a national trainer with YMCA of the USA and oversees the leadership and organizational development strategies for the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles. She has presented at local and national conferences including National Afterschool Association, California Association for the Education of Young Children, and YMCA of the USA Youth Expo. She is also a facilitator and coach for the Executive Preparatory Institute and coach for 360 assessments for executive level professionals. She has earned a bachelor degree in Family Resources from the University of Hawai'i and a master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University.
Gwen lives in Santa Clarita Valley in California with her husband and adorable golden doodle named Mandy. She enjoys reading baking, playing games, a huge Disney fan, and spending time with family.
