Primary Presenter holds a degree in Creative Arts from San Jose State University in California and has over 20 years' experience educating, directing and operating preschools and child care centers. Presenter is a certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, and has been a California Mentor Teacher. Presenter works both in and out of the classroom weekly to hone her skills and inform her own practice.
Owning a Preschool since 2001 as well as being a program director for a successful School Age Child Care and Camps Program since 2008 have given presenter experience leading and mentoring a current staff over 25 people (between the two locations).
Presenter has excellent public speaking skills and experience leading workshops, staff development training and presentations on this and other topics; most recently at the 2015 NAEYC Conference in Florida (this topic), 2014 CAEYC conference (this topic), 2014 NAEYC Conference and Expo (different topic). Presenter will be sharing this topic once again at the 2016 CAEYC conference.
Presenter uses her experience and education to help Early Childhood and School Age Educators tap in to their creativity to bring forth inspired, meaningful and emergent curriculum.
Co-presenter holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from San Jose State University and has worked both in and out of Early Learning Environments.
He has been a marketing director, creative director, communications manager and general manager for small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.
His firsthand experience using a formal creative process to design advertising and marketing campaigns, gives him a unique understanding of the value of merging creative process and critical thinking.
Co-presenter brings expertise in Design Thinking and is an innovator in merging creativity practices and early education- helping children at the Barron Park Preschool to be creative and intentional in their play and exploration.
