MISSION

The Sacramento Valley Association for the Education of Young Children is committed to excellence in early care and education for children, birth through 8 years of age. SVAEYC builds and maintains a strong, diverse and inclusive organization with early childhood professionals.

Sacramento Valley AEYC works to improve and sustain the quality of early care and education for young children and their families and to support our members in their growth and professional development. We publish yearly newsletters, sponsor events for children and families, advocate at the legislative level for quality care programs, network with other agencies and organizations in the field, provide educational opportunities for our members and much more. We work in partnership with CAEYC and NAEYC. We also offer professional growth hours.

Our affiliate shall aid in raising standards for the training of teachers and leaders in the field; and to encourage student participation in the professional activities related to early childhood education. We shall further parent education as an integral part of early childhood education. We shall stimulate research in growth and development of young children. We will increase opportunities for optimal child development through legislation as well as be alert to new trends in early childhood education.
